COURSE-1: Certificate Course in Remedial Training

What is it? An issue that involves difficulty with reading. It can also affect writing, spelling and speaking. Kids may find it hard to isolate sounds, match sounds to letters or blend sounds into words. An issue that involves difficulty with the physical act of writing. Kids may also find it hard to organize and express their thoughts and ideas in written form.

What can help
  • Specific instruction on identifying sounds, understanding how letters represent sounds in speech and decoding words
  • Specialized instruction, either one-on-one or in a small group
  • A reading program that focuses on using all the senses to learn (a number of programs use a multisensory approach)

 

  • Occupational therapy to build fine motor skills and dexterity
  • Having kids take a break before proofreading their work
  • A checklist for editing their work—spelling, neatness, grammar, syntax, clear progression of ideas, etc.
  • Using graphic organizers

 

What you can do at home
  • Read aloud so your child hears stories above his reading level.
  • Encourage your child to listen to audiobooks.
  • Help your child use spell-check programs designed for people with dyslexia.
  • Use speech-to-text tools.
  • For younger kids, recite nursery rhymes and sing memory songs.

 

  • Work on keyboarding skills.
  • Use speech-to-text tools that allow your child’s speech to be translated to text.
  • Try a handwriting program such as Handwriting Without Tears.
  • Work on correct letter formation using techniques that don’t require writing, like finger writing in the air or in shaving cream.

Course Name: CERTIFICATE COURSE IN REMEDIAL TEACHING

Objective of the Programme

According to National Council of Education, Research and Training (NCERT), 10% of school going children suffer from Specific Learning Disability. It is important to realize that learning disabilities can affect an individual's life beyond academics and can impact relationships with family, friends and in the workplace. Keeping the above demand in mind, our major objective is to train Parents, Teachers, Professionals and Others by providing remedial training to handle children with Learning Disability, Learning Problems and Students with Special Groups

Duration: 6 months including internship (evening classes, weekly twice will be conducted initially and timings will be updated after joining).

Eligibility Criteria: Graduation in any discipline (Male and Female)

Course fee: Total fee- Rs. 35,000/-
Fee can be paid in two installments
At the time of admission – Rs. 25,000/- to be paid
After one month- Rs. 10,000/- to be paid.

Note: Once fee paid will not be refunded if cancelled or discontinued the course under any circumstances.

Mode of classes: Regular classes for local candidates and online classes for non-local candidates.

No of Seats: 20 seats for local students and 20 seats for non-local students.

The above course will train Parents, Teachers, Professionals and Others to handle children with Learning Disability, Learning Problems and Students with Special Groups. Develops competency in a range of teaching skills to suit the needs of the children being taught and access the different resources to support the integration of a child with special needs.

After Training/On completion of the course

  • One can start their own remedial center

  • Start a resource room in regular school

  • Plan and evaluate individualized intervention programs for their own area of disability

  • Work with educationalists and therapist to provide counseling and support to parents

Paper-2: Identification and Assessment

Paper-3: Intervention/Remediation and Teaching Strategies

Paper-4: Practicum/ Internal Assignment (Submission of 5 case records)

Theory and Practical exam at the end
Total marks: 500
